First Meeting p4

I hurried out of the night club and over to my sisters apartment, making sure to call her and make sure she was still up prior to that. She was, so I ran over there and as soon as I got there I skipped inside the apartment, cheering, "Sister, I've had some coffee and I am WIRED!"
"You seem more excited about something than wired." Christy replied, giving me a wary look.
I giggled madly, grabbed my sister in my arms and jumped up and down, chanting, "I met a guy tonight!"

Her boyfriend stepped out of the bedroom, only in his jeans, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Ello….what's all this then…?" he asked through a yawn.
So, without a moment to lose, I got them onto the sofa and just went on and on about Janza and just how cool he is. But as I continued on and on about him, I noticed that I hadn't seen Twister recently.
"Hey, where's Twist?"
Inferno and Christy looked at each other, then back at me. "What, what happened?"
Inferno scratched his head, "Well, he's…not here right now…he just left with his guitar, not saying anything…"
"We don't know what's wrong with him…he just seemed so sad for the past few days…" Christy sighed heavily.
"Oh…hope he's ok…"

I left their apartment, happy to have seen them again, but was worried about Twister. Out of everyone in the group, I knew him the best and knew all the places he liked to go when he was upset. The first place I would look…the park. As I went to the park, I looked inside of me to find what I was gonna tell him. How I would explain to him that as much as I really like him, I just don't find him boyfriend material, which is ridiculous as he's a total sweet heart. As I continued to walk towards my destination, I heard someone picking at guitar strings, as if the musician was desperate to drown his sorrows in music, but could not find the fire inside of his heart to begin.

I turned the corner of the block and looked over the grass field to see a glimmer of a metallic item. I had a feeling that it was him, as I heard the music coming from the swing set. I slowly walked towards the swings, seeing the sweet black Echidna sitting on a swing and trying to wash away his pain. I sat down on the swing next to him, "Hi Twist."
"…Hey…"
"Nice night. The stars are so pretty." I looked up into the sky, then glanced over to him. "Trouble playing?"
He was silent for a few minutes, then hugged his guitar. "Why is it so hard to play anymore…"
My ears drooped slightly, silently sitting next to him.
"It used to be so easy to…just take my bad mood and use it as fuel to pump out something epic but now…" he was silent for a minute. "I can't…"

"Sometimes you just hit a dry spot…"
"I just…I look at everyone else and see how happy they are and….I'm all alone…" he sniffled.
"Twist…" I smiled as I put my arms around him. "I know you're still upset about us, but you'll find someone who isn't like me and is ten times better than me."
He wiped away his tears, "I've looked all over the city though…there's no one for me here…"
"Don't give up, Twist. I know how depressed you are about not being with me, but there's someone out there, looking for a sweet-hearted echidna, just like you."
"I dunno…"
"Listen." I got on my knees in front of him, holding his hands and looking into his eyes. "You're not my boyfriend. But you are my best friend in the whole world and with that said, I think I may know a girl who might be into you."
"What…?"
"I met her at a computer store when I was looking for my laptop and she was looking for spare parts. She likes computers, video games, science fiction movies, everything you do. And she's really lonely." I replied, shaking his hands with every point I made. "She needs a sweet guy like you."

Twister shrugged, "Worth a shot…I guess…"
I smiled and stood, leaning down and lightly kissing his forehead. "Twist, you really are my best friend. That's all I can give. I want you to be happy and I think this girl can help with that. You might not like it at first, but she'll grow on you."
"I'm desperate for someone…what's her name?"
"Tierra."
